The Effect of Olive Oil on Breast Cancer

Research has shown that regular consumption of extra virgin olive oil may reduce your risk of cancers, including breast cancer. Women in the Mediterranean who regularly consumed olive oil and followed a Mediterranean diet were less likely to get breast cancer than those who did not.

Extra virgin olive contains antioxidants which are known to help reduce free radicals in the body that cause cancer. Additionally, antioxidants help your body in many other ways and help keep your immune system strong, maintain lower blood cholesterol and blood pressure, and may reduce your risk of many other diseases. However, your risk may only be lowered if you maintain a healthy lifestyle: exercising regularly, avoiding processed foods, avoiding drugs and toxins, etc.
